Franz Hawlata´s and Yvonne Steiner´s Singing Masterclasses in the birthplace of Gustav Mahler in Kaliště near Humpolec, Czech Republic
The master singing courses of the world-renowned German bass-baritone Franz Hawlata and the excellent German soprano Yvonne Steiner are mainly focused on the interpretation of song, oratorio and opera works. The courses are intended for opera singers, students of music schools and teachers of opera singing. Thanks to daily intensive work with excellent teachers and pianists (Róbert Pechanec and Ahmad Hedar), the aim of the courses is to improve and deepen the correct interpretation of solo vocal works. Both Franz Hawlata and Yvonne Steiner have been intensively engaged in pedagogical activities in recent years. Franz Hawlata is a soloist on the world's leading opera stages such as the Metropolitan Opera in NY, Bayreuther Festspiele, Wiener Staatsoper, Bayerische Staatsoper, Teatro Real in Madrid and many others. Yvonne Steiner is a soloist of leading German opera houses. Both singers are intensively dedicated to singing and oratorical work.

Arrival to the course is in the early evening on 18th August when an organizational meeting of all the participants is also held in Kaliště near Humpolec, Czech Republic

Masterclasses include
lessons with a teacher and pianist every day of the stay,
dress rehearsal and final concerts at the end of the courses
free admission to other concerts within the courses.
Participants can be active or passive (accompaniment, teachers).
Application
The application must be submitted by 15/6/2024, the number of participants is limited.
Course fees
The fee for an active participant in the singing courses for Czech citizens is 8.000,- CZK.
The fee for a passive participant in the singing courses for Czech citizens is 2.000,-CZK.
The fee for an active participant in the singing courses for foreigners is 400,-EURO.
The fee for a passive participant in the singing courses for foreigners is 200,-EURO.
The fees must be paid by 15/6/2024 to the account of the Prague Institute of Music.
Accommodation + catering
Meals can be used at a discounted price for course participants and their companions in the Mahler Penzion, where the courses take place.
The participants will arrange their own accommodation, or the organizer will arrange it on request.
